Football Update #10

Player of the Week

The goals are flying in for Asa (Year 13) who got his second hat-trick in a row to make it twenty-nine for the season for the 1st XI. Another 1st XI player to shine was Dino (Year 13) - on his return from injury, he covered every blade of grass to drive the 1st XI on. Jacob (Year 11) was outstanding for the 3rd XI as centre forward against Box Hill - he didn’t stop pressing the opposition centre backs, and was a constant threat all game. 'Mr Consistency' Jaemin (Year 13) was the hero for the 1st XI, scoring a brilliant last-minute equalise versus Ardingly. Player of the Week is Aron (Year 8) who scored a stunning hat-trick for the U13As, and continues to inspire the team in their deep National Cup run.

Team of the Week

The 3rd XI played up two levels against Box Hill’s 1st XI, and a fine defensive display got them a good away draw. An exceptional team display from the 1st XI got them into the next round of the Surrey Cup as they beat Glenthorne 4-0, which they then followed that up with a resilient effort against a very good Ardingly College team. The U14As continued their outstanding season, winning their fourteenth game out of seventeen. The U13As are Team of the Week - they continued their impressive National Cup run, as they roared into Round Five with a convincing win over Coombe Boys.
