Football Update #19

Player of the Week

The U17As played together for the first time in preparation for the 1st XI next season and came out convincing winners. Nana O (Year 11) scored two classy finishes and Shlok (Year 11) was a rock at right back. Anir’s (Year 8) powerful running was rewarded with a well taken hat-trick and Nawar (Year 8) on the same day was inspirational for the U13Bs in their fine win. Two U12As - Woody (Year 7) and Arnav (Year 7) - continue to have fantastic first seasons for the school, producing two high quality displays against Wimbledon and Epsom respectively. Player of the Week is U12B centre forward Daniel (Year 7) who scored a stunning four goals in their win versus Wimbledon.

Team of the Week

There were excellent wins for the U12D and U12E team as they battled to the end against Wimbledon College. The 1st XI did the school proud with a mammoth effort against National Cup Finalists Hampton away from home. They were two minutes away from a famous win, but a late equaliser by Hampton saw them then go on to win in Extra Time. The U12As showed all their qualities this week. On Friday, they scored some stunning goals in their 8-1 win before a very mature and defensively excellent display to beat Epsom on Saturday. Team of the Week are the U13Cs who put in a very good team performance on Tuesday and followed this up by winning the Epsom Round Robin tournament on Saturday!
