Football Update #9
Player of the Week
Dorian (Year 10) was the hero for the U15As as he scored a free kick and was a defensive stalwart clearing every Greenshaw attack. Chris (Year 8) helped himself to a double for the U13Bs away versus Harrodian and Aariv (Year 9) did the same at the same venue for the U14Bs. There were goals galore in the 1st XI’s game versus Godalming, Asa (Year 13) got three of them, one a stunning volley into the top corner. Woody (Year 7) is player of the week; he continued his excellent form winning every tackle and showing his customary determination to drive the U12As forward.
Team of the Week
The 1st XI had a tricky league game away versus Godalming, but their forward players had their shooting boots on scoring seven in a comprehensive win. The U14As and U12As advanced to the next round of the Sutton Cup, with two deserved wins. Another team to make it through in the Sutton Cup were the U15As, who notched their first win of the season against Greenshaw. It was a week where our Cs and Ds shone, with the U13s and U14s all winning their games. Team of the Week are the U14Bs who beat Harrodian U15Bs 3-1 away from home on the back of a fine collective team effort.
