La Course des Cafés
As part of International Languages Week, the Languages Department brought a delightful slice of Paris to Wilson’s with our own version of La Course des Cafés. This century-old Parisian tradition sees waiters dash through the streets balancing a tray laden with a cup of coffee, a glass of water, and a croissant. At Wilson’s, we added our unique flair to the event.
Last Wednesday, 12 eager representatives - two from each House - gathered in the gym to compete for the coveted title. Armed with trays carrying a cup of water, a box of chocolates, an apple, and a croissant, contestants had to navigate the challenging course with strategy, poise, and balance. The race unfolded in an atmosphere of friendly rivalry, with enthusiastic cheers from friends and staff.
In the end, it was Southwark that triumphed, claiming the top spot, followed by Datchelor in second place, and Camberwell securing third. Well done to everyone who took part!
