Wear It Pink at Wilson's
Last month, the school hosted a non-uniform day in order to raise money for Breast Cancer Now’s ‘Wear It Pink’ day.
Preparations began on the preceding day after school with the Charities Committee putting up bunting, balloons and posters - a magnificent transformation of the school's entrance!
Although the main charity that we are supporting this year is Great Ormond Street Hospital, this one-off event very effectively raised awareness of the impact of breast cancer on so many people's lives – there are around 370 men and 55,000 women diagnosed each year in the UK. These statistics crucially reveal how both men and women are affected by this issue.
All in all, this was a fantastic opportunity to get back into the spirit of raising money and we were able to raise over £1,000 for this great cause! Certainly, this was a great start to the charity events at Wilson’s.
