Year 12 students discover a unique career path
Earlier this week, Karyn Folland (pictured with Dr Berges) came to Wilson’s deliver a talk on her unique career path to our Year 12 students.
Having begun her career as a consultant at Oliver Wyman, she earned her MBA at Wharton in 2003, and then joined the finance rotational program at Thomson Reuters. During her 13-year tenure at the company, Karyn held several senior executive positions, including VP Technology Strategy, CFO of a business unit based in Dubai, and finally as the Global Head of Content Transformation. For the past 8 years, she has led her personal consultancy where she leads projects to assist clients through major transformations – including organisational restructures, executing new operating models, and implementing large software systems.
Following her talk, the students were able to benefit from her insights, asking questions about the skills, decision-making process, and the lessons learned during her career to provide them with greater insights into their available options. We are very grateful to Karyn for the time she took out of her busy schedule to come and visit us!
