AT BUCKINGHAM PALACE
Posted on: | Category:

On Monday 13th May, seven Year 13 went to celebrate the culmination of two years of hard work by attending the Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Celebration Event in Buckingham Palace Gardens.

These students have not only successfully completed up to 18 months of Volunteering, Physical and Skill activities, and attended a 5 day residential experience away from home with people they don’t know, but have also twice conquered wet and windy Wales in one 3-day and one 4-day expedition during Year 12, where they had to carry everything they needed to survive for those periods of time. Special mention should go to these students on their practice expedition which was quite possibly the most apocalyptically wet I have seen in my ten years of running DofE expeditions!

Congratulations to Rahavan, Arko, Muizz, Atharva, Soham, Isa and Kobi, who attended this event in May. Well done also to Henry and Gabriel who did not quite get their sections signed off in time to attend this year, so they will go next year.

To all students who are looking to move on to the next level of their DofE journey in September, do make sure that your online account is up to date so that you are not at a disadvantage.

Thank you to Rahavan for sending me the photos that accompany this article.

Mr. Elwood, DofE Manager
