In Year 10, French students have the chance to write letters to a French penpal from a different school to learn more about what a typical French student's life is like. Recently, my class was able to conduct a Zoom call with our penpals to give us the chance to meet our penpals face-to-face and ask some questions.

Originally, I thought that I would get a chance to stay away from the limelight in the beginning to get a feel for how the call was going to work, however, luck was not on my side as I had to go first! After greeting my penpal, Mathis, I asked him a question about who his favourite teacher was, and why. He then answered and asked about what I thought of my school. I replied talking about my sense of pride for the school and how both the teachers and my classmates help me when I have problems.

In conclusion, I'm very grateful for the opportunity given to us by the MFL Department and I really enjoyed meeting and talking with my French penpal and I hope to keep in touch with them in the future.
